Senior AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Atishi have launched a fierce attack on the BJP-led Delhi government over its controversial ordinance concerning private school fees. Addressing a press briefing and through multiple posts on social media, both leaders accused the BJP of empowering the private school lobby and turning a blind eye to the plight of parents and students.

Parents Burdened, Education System Undermined: Sisodia
Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that in just three months of BJP rule, lakhs of Delhi’s parents have been crushed under the weight of unjust school fees. He alleged that the same private school lobby that was reined in during Arvind Kejriwal’s tenure has returned stronger under BJP governance, targeting parents with impunity. The BJP is enacting new laws on children’s education and school fees in secrecy, without consulting parents,” Sisodia said. “They’ve handed over the education system to profiteers. What was once a system regulated for public interest has now become a business venture at the cost of our children’s futures.”

Children Locked in Classrooms, BJP Unmoved: Atishi
Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Atishi, highlighted a shocking incident where children were allegedly locked inside classrooms by a private school over transportation issues. “A school confined students just because their parents chose not to use the school’s expensive van service. What kind of administration allows this?” she questioned.

Atishi further demanded transparency, asking, “What exactly is written in this ordinance that the BJP is hiding from parents? Why hasn’t the government taken action against even one offending school?”

AAP Alleges Law to Benefit Private Institutions
Sisodia called the ordinance a “sham” and claimed that it does nothing to protect parents but instead empowers school managements further.“The BJP’s proposed law is cosmetic at best,” he said. “Real power still lies with the education mafia. The government is simply trying to wash its hands of any responsibility

Worsening Governance in Delhi: AAP
Apart from education, Sisodia also alleged a decline in healthcare and essential services since BJP came to power in Delhi. “Hospitals are in disarray, electricity rates have gone up, and there are increasing power cuts,” he said. “Instead of improving services, BJP leaders are focused only on targeting Arvind Kejriwal through ED and CBI raids.”
