Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has strongly rebutted Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi Marlena’s recent claim of a severe water crisis in the national capital, calling it a “fabricated narrative” built on AAP’s pattern of “daily falsehoods.”

Addressing the media, Sachdeva stated that “AAP leaders have reduced politics to a daily lie,” and Atishi’s statement about a worsening water crisis is another attempt to mislead the people of Delhi. He emphasized that there is no widespread crisis, as the BJP-led administration has already taken proactive steps to manage the summer demand.

Water Shortage vs. Water Crisis
Clarifying the situation, Sachdeva said, “We acknowledge there may be some instances of water shortage, but it is far from a crisis. In fact, the BJP government’s Summer Action Plan has helped prevent a major breakdown in water supply.” He noted that improved water distribution in residential colonies and GPS-enabled tankers have ensured timely delivery in vulnerable areas.

AAP’s Own Track Record Under Scrutiny
Virendra Sachdeva took a dig at the previous AAP government, reminding Atishi of the frequent protests and media coverage around water scarcity during her own tenure. “Around this time last year, the city was witnessing public protests, RWA demonstrations, and severe complaints about the lack of water in slums. However, this year, such incidents are minimal thanks to better preparedness,” he asserted.

Failure to Expand Infrastructure
The BJP leader held the previous Kejriwal-led administration responsible for Delhi’s structural water issues, citing a decade of neglect in expanding water storage infrastructure, curbing theft, and managing wastage. “Had the AAP government acted on these fronts in their ten years of rule, Delhi wouldn’t face such challenges today,” Sachdeva added.

He concluded by reiterating that the current
administration under CM Rekha Gupta is focused on solutions rather than blame games, and urged the opposition to engage constructively instead of spreading “imaginary panic.”
