In a strong show of support for the Indian armed forces, the Congress on Wednesday announced a nationwide initiative — ‘Jai Hind Yatras’ — aimed at boosting the morale of defence personnel and demonstrating national unity in the face of cross-border terrorism.

Hails ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a Warning to Pakistan
At a press conference, Congress spokesperson Dr. Ragini Nayak praised the Indian Army for its swift and decisive action under ‘Operation Sindoor’, calling it a befitting reply to Pakistan following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. “The Indian Army is setting new benchmarks with its bravery and giving a strong message to those who sponsor terror,” she said.

Congress Offers Unconditional Support to Government on National Security
Dr. Nayak reiterated that the Congress stands firmly with the Government of India on matters of national security. She referenced statements made during recent Congress Working Committee and All-Party meetings, where party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi expressed full support to the government. “This is not a time for party politics,” she emphasized.

Jai Hind Yatras to be Held Nationwide
Announcing the launch of the ‘Jai Hind Yatra’, Dr. Nayak said the Congress will carry out these marches in every state with the national tricolor. The aim, she said, is to show the world that people of all religions and communities in India are united against terrorism.

Tricolor Symbolizes National Unity

Highlighting the unifying power of the national flag, Dr. Nayak stated, “The tricolor is the religion of India, which binds us all together.” She called on citizens to participate in the Yatras as a show of solidarity with the armed forces.

Pakistan Accused of Supporting Terrorism
Condemning Pakistan’s actions, Dr. Nayak criticized its military for attending funerals of terrorists targeted in Indian strikes. “This is proof that Pakistan is a terrorist state,” she said.

Call for Prioritizing Border Security

The Congress spokesperson also urged the central government to enhance security and welfare measures for citizens residing in border areas, who she said remain vulnerable to repeated attacks.

Opposes IMF Loan to Pakistan

In a final appeal, Dr. Nayak urged the Indian government to object strongly to Pakistan’s request for a $1.3 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), arguing that such funds could be misused to fuel terrorism.
