Poor people living in unauthorized and resettlement colonies, JJ Clusters, urban and rural villages suffer terrible agony on account of frequent monsoon rains as the Rekha Gupta has failed to take prompt steps to address the monsoon woes Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that frequent rains lashing the city for the past few days have turned the life of the poor people living in JJ Clusters, resettlement and unauthorized colonies, urban and rural villages unbearably hellish, besides waterlogging the roads and streets everywhere in Delhi, to bring movement of traffic to a standstill, to expose the lies and false claims of the BJP Government headed by Rekha Gupta of carrying out desilting of the clogged stormwater drains and sewers, and repairing all the broken and dilapidated roads.
Waterlogging and garbage accumulation worsen conditions in unauthorized colonies and JJ clusters
Devender Yadav said that Delhiites have been bearing with terrible discomforts on account of rains like it was during the regime of the Aam Aadmi Party Government, as the BJP also made only lofty promises without addressing the mess in the city, left behind by the corrupt Kejriwal Government. Devender Yadav said that waterlogging and accumulation of filth due to rains in unauthorized colonies, resettlement colonies, JJ Clusters, urban and rural villages without any arrangement for drinking water, and frequent power cuts have aggravated the sufferings of the poor people as their children could not even go to schools due to the terrible condition of the broken roads and flooded streets. He said that rain water accumulation .and uncleared garbage in the colonies where the poor live have also seen a sharp spike in vector-borne diseases as the Rekha Gupta Government’s gross neglect of addressing the monsoon woes have become all too apparent to the people.
Broken roads and clogged drains remain unaddressed despite BJP’s claims and extended deadlines
Devender Yadav said that the Rekha Gupta Government had made loud announcements on assuming power in Delhi that it would quickly repair all the broken roads and desilt the clogged sewers and drains as the AAP Government had not bothered to clean them for over 11 years, but the Rekha Gupta Government also turned out to be a clone of the corrupt Aam Aadmi Party as despite extending the deadline for the PWD to complete the desilting work, and the BJP also holding the reins of power in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the Capital got flooded when the monsoon rains hit the city in full force to expose all the false claims of the Triple Engine BJP Government.
