BJP leaders credit quick drainage response and on-ground leadership for improved monsoon preparedness
The Delhi BJP President said that the timely cleaning of major drains and sewers on key roads by the Delhi Government resulted in a significant improvement. Unlike in 2024 and earlier years, when even a light rain would flood the roads for days, today, despite heavy rainfall, waterlogging was cleared shortly after the rain stopped. Shri Virendra Sachdeva said that Delhi residents themselves felt the difference brought by the change in government, as the Chief Minister, along with ministers, the Mayor, BJP MLAs and councillors, and the NDMC Vice-Chairperson, stepped onto the streets and ensured that waterlogging was cleared within hours of the rain.
While AAP highlights persistent waterlogging and questions ministerial accountability
Virendra Sachdeva and other BJP leaders assert that today’s heavy rainfall was managed efficiently through immediate on-ground action—clearing drains, deploying officials, and restoring normalcy within hours. They claim this marks a shift from past monsoons under the previous government. Meanwhile, AAP maintains that waterlogging issues still persisted at significant spots, accusing the ruling BJP of both verbal posturing and ministerial absence during the crisis.
