Historic Achievement at Green Mobility Awards
Delhi has achieved a major national milestone by winning four Gold Awards and one Silver Award at the Motoring World Green Mobility Awards 2025. This proud moment highlights Delhi’s strong commitment towards clean, electric, and sustainable transport. The awards ceremony was held at Travancore Palace, New Delhi, and brought together leaders from government, industry, and the mobility sector.
Delhi Recognised as a Leader in Electric Mobility
The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi was recognised for its outstanding work in electric mobility. Delhi received Gold Awards for Best City for EV Bus Adoption, Best State for EV Taxi, Best State for an EV Bus Fleet, and Best State for EV Policy. Along with this, Delhi also won a Silver Award for Best State for EV Charging Infrastructure. These honours show that Delhi is working on every part of the electric mobility system, from policy to vehicles and charging facilities.
Visionary Leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta
Delhi’s Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh said that this recognition reflects the focused efforts of the Delhi Government under the leadership of Rekha Gupta. He said that the Chief Minister’s clear vision for clean public transport and sustainable development has helped Delhi move fast in adopting electric mobility solutions.
Electric Buses Transforming Public Transport
Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh said that electric buses are now changing the face of Delhi’s public transport system. More electric buses are being added every year, helping reduce air pollution and making travel more comfortable for passengers. These buses are quieter, cleaner, and better for the environment, and they are playing an important role in improving air quality in the city.
Strong EV Policy and Growing EV Taxi Network
Delhi’s electric vehicle policy has been praised at the national level. The policy supports electric buses, electric taxis, and private electric vehicles. The growing number of EV taxis in Delhi is reducing fuel emissions and giving people cleaner travel options. The government is also working to make electric vehicles affordable and convenient for citizens.
Continuous Work on Charging Infrastructure
Along with electric vehicles, Delhi is also expanding its EV charging network. The Silver Award for charging infrastructure shows that the government is steadily building the facilities needed for large-scale EV adoption. More public and private charging stations are being developed to ensure smooth and worry-free use of electric vehicles across the city.
National-Level Recognition and Participation
The award ceremony was attended by Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, along with senior officials, policymakers, industry leaders, and mobility experts. The event highlighted India’s journey towards clean mobility and encouraged cooperation between governments and institutions.
Role of Motoring World in Promoting Clean Mobility
The awards are organised by Motoring World, which aims to recognise real progress in sustainable transport across India. The platform highlights achievements in infrastructure development, policy planning, innovation, and environmental protection, and encourages states to adopt cleaner mobility solutions.
Cleaner Air and Better Travel Experience
Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh said that Delhi’s expanding electric bus fleet and growing EV adoption are helping reduce emissions and improve urban air quality. These efforts are also making daily travel smoother and more comfortable for commuters. Electric mobility, he said, is not just a policy but a long-term commitment to public health and the environment.
Delhi Leading India’s Clean Mobility Journey
Delhi’s success at the Motoring World Green Mobility Awards 2025 proves that the city is leading India’s clean mobility movement. With strong policies, modern infrastructure, and continuous innovation, the Delhi Government is building a future-ready transport system. Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh said that the goal is clear—to make Delhi a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable city for future generations.
