Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that despite BJP being in power in Haryana, the BJP Governing released huge amount of water from the Hathnikund Barrage all of a sudden without informing the BJP Government in Delhi as the rush of water has flooded low-lying areas of Delhi to create havoc with the life and property of the people living near the Yamuna river banks. He assured that Congress will provide all possible help to the flood affected as Congress has always risen to the occasion on such situations to help the people whether the party was in power or not. He said that when Congress was in power, it would make advance preparations to setup relief camps with food and tents to shift the flood affected to safer places.

He said that despite the Yamuna water levels increasing due to incessant rains for the past few days, the Government showed utter lack of initiative and inertia as people living along the river banks were now surrounded by flood waters with no help or support coming from the Delhi Government, nor any Delhi Minister or senior official has visited the area.
