Returning to School Means Returning to Responsibility
Hon’ble Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly Vijender Gupta, said that when people return to their school, they return not only to memories but also to a sense of responsibility. Speaking as the Chief Guest and also as a former student, he shared that schools shape our thinking, values, and confidence. He said that no matter what position a person reaches in life, the lessons learned in school always stay with them.
School Years Shape Our Life
Vijender Gupta said that school life is the most important and meaningful period in a person’s journey. The classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, and friendships leave a deep impact on every student. He explained that these early years help build confidence, ambition, discipline, and social responsibility. According to him, when alumni meet again, they reconnect as students first, not as officers, leaders, or professionals.
Strong Bond Between Alumni and Their Alma Mater
While addressing the Alumni and Sports Meet and Get Together 2025 at Shakti Nagar School No.1, Gupta spoke about the strong emotional bond alumni share with their school. He said such gatherings bring people together beyond age and status and revive a shared identity created during school days. These moments remind everyone of where they started and who helped shape their journey.
Appreciation for Alumni Contribution
Vijender Gupta appreciated the Old Boys Association for its active role in supporting the school. He praised their efforts in improving school infrastructure, especially in developing sports facilities. He encouraged alumni to continue contributing towards long-term and sustainable development. He said that when alumni support academics, sports, and digital facilities, they help build a better future for coming generations.
Giving Back Is the Greatest Contribution
The Speaker said that giving back to one’s school is one of the most meaningful things alumni can do. He suggested simple and effective ways like scholarships, academic support, digital learning tools, and permanent infrastructure projects. He shared that many alumni contributions may not get immediate recognition, but they create a lasting impact and inspire students for years to come.
Pride in PM School Status
Vijender Gupta expressed pride that the school has been included under the PM SHRI Schools initiative. He said this programme represents modern education, better infrastructure, and overall development. He added that teachers, alumni, and the local community must work together to help the school grow further and match the best institutions in the country.
Presence of Dignitaries and Alumni
The event was attended by local MLA Ashok Goyal, Vice President of the Old Boys Association Kailash Chandra Gupta, and Principal Mehek Singh. Senior alumni, teachers, and staff members were also present. Vijender Gupta thanked everyone for staying connected with the school and supporting its growth. He said such gatherings create a feeling of belonging and shared pride.
Working Together for the Future
In his concluding remarks, Vijender Gupta said that schools become stronger when alumni stay actively involved in their progress. He stressed that alumni associations should work continuously, not just during reunions. He said that when alumni, educators, and the community come together, schools grow not only in buildings and facilities but also in values, confidence, and excellence among students.
A Message of Inspiration
Vijender Gupta ended his address by saying that strong educational institutions create confident and responsible citizens. He expressed hope that Shakti Nagar School will continue to inspire future generations with discipline, pride, and a strong sense of purpose.
