NEW DELHI | May 12, 2025
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address the nation tonight at 8 PM. The announcement has sparked political reactions, notably from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, who mocked the Prime Minister for skipping the recent all-party meeting yet appearing for a national address.
Sanjay Singh’s Sarcastic Remark on PM’s Address
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Sanjay Singh wrote,
“After missing the all-party meeting—but attending election rallies in Bihar, film events in Mumbai, and ceremonies in Kerala and Andhra Pradesh—the world-renowned performer Shri 1008 is now making an appearance at 8 PM tonight. Don’t miss this free drama show!”
Singh’s comment was a clear dig at the Prime Minister’s packed public schedule and his absence during key political consultations.
PM’s Address Follows Operation Sindoor Success
The timing of the PM’s address comes on the heels of the Indian Army’s successful military action under Operation Sindoor. The cross-border operation targeted and destroyed nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), eliminating over 100 terrorists.
This major retaliation came in response to the April 22 terror attack that claimed the lives of 29 Indian tourists. In retaliation, on the night of May 6–7, Indian forces launched air strikes deep into enemy territory.
Foreign Ministry Briefed Nation on Operation
Following the operation, the Ministry of External Affairs held a detailed press briefing. Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh led the media interaction, providing the nation with official information about the operation’s planning, execution, and success.
Pakistan’s Failed Retaliation and India’s Strong Response
In retaliation, Pakistan attempted to target Indian military sites using drones and missiles, which were intercepted and neutralized by Indian forces. India responded decisively, inflicting significant damage on Pakistani military infrastructure.
As the nation awaits the Prime Minister’s statement, many expect details or commentary related to the security operation and India’s firm stance on terrorism.
