Now being almost shut out with an exorbitant fee of Rs 88 lakh
US President Donald Trump has slammed Indian professionals with an unprecedented H-1B visa (Speciality Occupation Nonimmigrant Worker Visa) fee hike from ₹1–6 lakh to ₹88 lakh, virtually shutting America’s doors on them. While lakhs of Indian doctors, engineers and experts face the brunt, Prime Minister Narendra Modi maintains silence — a silence AAP Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia and Delhi unit president Saurabh Bharadwaj say exposes his weakness before Trump.Senior AAP leader and Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia stated, “America has increased the H-1B visa fees for Indian professionals to ₹88 lakh. Earlier this fee used to be between ₹1 to 6 lakh, but suddenly it has been increased to such a high amount. Indian professionals who were once welcomed by America and European countries with open arms are now being almost shut out with an exorbitant fee of Rs 88 lakh.”
This is a matter of concern
He added, “Never before have Indians faced such insult and hostility. On his birthday, the Prime Minister beams with happiness when he receives a phone call from Trump and even tweets about how pleased he feels. But after this heavy blow on Indian professionals, the country also wants to know through a tweet how the Prime Minister feels about it.”AAP’s Delhi unit president Saurabh Bharadwaj also reacted to the H-1B visa fee hike. He said, “Lakhs of Indians do not get good jobs in India. They go to America to work, and in the US, foreigners can only work on H-1B visas. More than 70% of those working on H-1B visas in America are Indians. Now this fee has been increased so that Indians working in America are forced to return to India. Why is US President Trump taking such a step? Why has he developed so much resentment towards Indians that he now wants to send back all the educated Indian doctors, engineers, and management experts? This is a matter of concern.
