The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called out Prime Minister Narendra Modi for being the “biggest brand ambassador of foreign goods” while preaching swadeshi to the nation, urging him to lead by example by giving up foreign jets and imported luxuries. AAP leaders National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and MP Sanjay Singh said PM Modi’s sermons on swadeshi ring hollow unless backed by action, stressing that the people want results, not rhetoric.

AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal

AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, in a post on X, stated, “Prime Minister, you want the people to use swadeshi. You should start using swadeshi yourself. Give up the foreign jet you travel in every day. Give up all the foreign luxuries you use throughout the day. Why don’t you shut down the four American companies operating in India? Trump insults India and Indians daily. Why don’t you act? The people expect action from their Prime Minister, not sermons.”

MP Sanjay Singh also took aim at PM Modi’s appeal for Indians

Meanwhile, senior AAP leader and MP Sanjay Singh also took aim at PM Modi’s appeal for Indians to adopt swadeshi, saying the Prime Minister himself is steeped in foreign goods. In a post on X, he wrote, “Brothers and sisters, I use a Swiss watch, Italian sunglasses, a German pen, an American phone, a German car, foreign helicopters, and foreign jets. I have become foreign myself, and may disappear with my bag anytime. You people should be swadeshi.” swadeshi will have meaning only if he himself abandons his lavish
AAP leaders stressed that PM Modi’s lectures on swadeshi will have meaning only if he himself abandons his lavish use of imported goods and sets an example for the nation to follow.
