Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi today said that while BJP leaders and workers were voting at multiple places multiple times, the votes of Congress supporters, including Dalits, backwards and minorities, were being deliberately deleted from the electoral rolls. Addressing largely attended public rallies at Banka and Bhagalpur in Bihar today, Gandhi referred to news reports showing some BJP leaders casting their votes in Bihar, despite having already cast their votes at other places like Delhi earlier. The senior Congress leader said he had already highlighted the issue of “vote theft” during his recent press conference in Delhi, and suggested that his charges had now been proved right.
He said
After stealing the elections in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Haryana, the BJP was now trying to steal the Bihar elections as well. He added that the BJP has adopted vote theft as its policy and strategy and is trying to apply it everywhere, including Bihar. But, he said, the BJP and the Election Commission of India probably don’t know the people of Bihar, who are conscious, alert and will never let anyone steal their votes. The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha described the vote theft as an attack on the Constitution of the country. He said the BJP wanted to steal elections so that the entire wealth of the nation could be distributed to a select few billionaires like Adani and Ambani. He took a dig at Union Home Minister Amit Shah for saying there was no land available in Bihar for industry. He pointed out that the Bihar government had provided a huge parcel of land to Adani for a mere Re 1 per acre. In the same context, he added that while people like Adani were being offered land almost free of cost, the youth of Bihar were being forced to migrate to different places to work as labourers.
Bihar this time, would change all this
Rahul Gandhi assured that the Mahagathbandhan government, which he said was certain to be formed in Bihar this time, would change all this. Bihar, he said, would be made a manufacturing hub, and products would proudly carry the label “Made in Bihar.” Rahul Gandhi also reiterated that the Mahagathbandhan government would be an inclusive government, representing all sections of the state, including Dalits, Maha Dalits, Extremely Backward Classes, Backward Classes, minorities and the general castes.
