In a significant diplomatic engagement, the Leader of the Opposition in the Indian Parliament, Shri Rahul Gandhi, met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, the Right Honourable Winston Peters, in New Delhi. The high-level interaction, which took place in a formal yet warm setting, was aimed at fostering deeper dialogue between the Indian National Congress and international counterparts on issues of bilateral and global importance.

Shri Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by Shri Gaurav Gogoi, Deputy Leader of the Indian National Congress in the Lok Sabha. The Indian delegation engaged in a constructive conversation with Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters and his team, which included senior officials from New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic mission in India.

The discussions centered around a wide range of topics including strengthening people-to-people ties, trade and economic cooperation, the evolving Indo-Pacific strategic landscape, climate action, and global democratic challenges. Both sides shared concerns over rising geopolitical tensions and underscored the need for a cooperative international order based on mutual respect and shared values.
